Baby Steps.

After my beautiful roomie and I devised this most excellent plan, I was feeling particularly fearless. So when it came time to place our Thai food order, I bravely asked the waiter for a spice level 2, as opposed to my usual 1.

Now for those of you who are not familiar with Thai food, you can specify how spicy you want your food, from 1 ("mild") to 5 ("OMG I am gonna die"). My eyes water when I order a 1... I am a wimp.

I know what you're thinking. Big deal. How in the world does raising my food's spiciness by 1 measly degree make me less Type A? Well... it kind of doesn't. I'm aware. But, still, in all fairness, I did break a habit that has been in place since Steph and I first discovered the deliciousness of Norman's Pad Thai back in the early days of our grad school adventure. Baby steps, people. Baby steps.

And hey, I survived. Sure, my face may have been contorted due to the extreme pain my taste buds were experiencing, but in KBrad vs. Spicy Thai, victory went to KBrad. And seriously, next week (or possibly this weekend... we order Thai A LOT in 18302), I will most definitely be ordering a 2 again. Who knows, maybe someday I will be brave enough to try a 5??? Dream big.

Moral of the story: adding a little spice to my life wasn't so bad after all.

Love always to all two of you who read this,
KBrad

Trying something new...

Lately, KBrad and I have been re-evaluating our lives (for many reasons that we are not going into detail here). One night, KBrad and I were enjoying our dinner while watching FRIENDS, when we got to talking. The conversation went something like this (at least the part relevant to this blog):

KBrad: I'm so jealous that you're so carefree, Steph.
Steph: No no...
KBrad: Can I be your young grasshopper?
Steph: Perfect. I need a new project.

So that's how the idea of making Kbrad more carefree came about. We decided to blog about it because it would be plain unfair if we kept this pure hilarity to ourselves. So although we know there will be very few people who actually read this, we hope that the few who do enjoy the transformation as much as we do.

Hearts, smiles, and sparkles,
       KBrad & Steph
